We split into two groups and practiced telling a stories from the scriptures. Then we met back together to present our work and talk about applications.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-900\" title=\"Mark tells the story of Joseph\" src=\"http:\/\/www.angelaross.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Family-Home-Evening-008.jpg\" alt=\"Mark tells the story of Joseph\" width=\"800\" height=\"531\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.angelaross.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Family-Home-Evening-008.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.angelaross.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Family-Home-Evening-008-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mark and Paige\u00a0 told the story of Joseph, who was sold into Egypt. Then we talked about things we can learn from the story. Here are some of the responses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You should be nice to your brothers (and sister).<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s a good idea to have some food storage.<\/li>\n<li>Even though bad things happen to good people sometimes, Heavenly Father still loves them and has a plan.<\/li>\n<li>We should forgive others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-901\" title=\"Timothy tells the story of Lehi\" src=\"http:\/\/www.angelaross.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Family-Home-Evening-009.jpg\" alt=\"Timothy tells the story of Lehi\" width=\"800\" height=\"531\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.angelaross.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Family-Home-Evening-009.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.angelaross.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Family-Home-Evening-009-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Timothy told the beginning of the story of Lehi and his family who left Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-902\" title=\"Daniel tells the story of Nephi and Laban\" src=\"http:\/\/www.angelaross.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Family-Home-Evening-010.jpg\" alt=\"Daniel tells the story of Nephi and Laban\" width=\"800\" height=\"531\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.angelaross.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Family-Home-Evening-010.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.angelaross.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/Family-Home-Evening-010-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Daniel finished the story of Nephi getting the brass plates. When we talked about what we could learn from the story, Timothy summarized, &#8220;You should obey Heavenly Father and He will help you to do it.&#8221; Daniel said, &#8220;If Heavenly Father asks you to do something, He will provide a way for you to do it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Yes!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Richard and I decided to have the kids help teach Family Home Evening last night.
