From reams of paper from my teenage and college years, I pulled a thin collection of excerpts to keep. Most pages landed solidly in the trash bin, but the process of sorting was enlightening. Here are some takeaways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have come a long way and overcome a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I still have some patterns of thought that began in childhood that I need to conquer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My family will not have to sort through this trash someday. Thank goodness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every thought and emotion is accurate and worthy to keep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My words awoke some empathy for what young women experience during these years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The writing I kept:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Anything about my family<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A few entries about my friends<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Violin and science achievements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Goals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Especially funny and memorable experiences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expressions of my testimony of Jesus Christ<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have always intended to leave behind a written record of my life, but it <strong>will<\/strong> be edited for content and length.
