I like what it does for the day to begin with more gratitude.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some things I am thankful for today:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>everyone home safely from camps<\/li>\n<li>children who do not complain<\/li>\n<li>roses blooming<\/li>\n<li>the fragrant summer rainstorm last night<\/li>\n<li>a favorite new music album<\/li>\n<li>lemon bars<\/li>\n<li>my white kitchen<\/li>\n<li>a new sewing machine<\/li>\n<li>my dad&#8217;s 50th anniversary of being baptized last week<\/li>\n<li>opportunities to serve<\/li>\n<li>beautiful views of mountains<\/li>\n<li>summer evenings outside<\/li>\n<li>good neighbors<\/li>\n<li>trees that make a rushing sound in the wind<\/li>\n<li>strength to run errands<\/li>\n<li>the boys&#8217; friends<\/li>\n<li>Paige playing, &#8220;Girl with the Flaxen Hair&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Timothy playing, &#8220;If You could Hie to Kolob&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Mark playing all of his jaunty pieces<\/li>\n<li>Daniel&#8217;s stellar piano arrangements<\/li>\n<li>family is eating all the food I prepare<\/li>\n<li>strength of the women in my neighborhood<\/li>\n<li>things I am learning in personal study<\/li>\n<li>things I am learning from interacting with many people<\/li>\n<li>things I am learning from my mistakes<\/li>\n<li>the Book of Mormon<\/li>\n<li>Richard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A phrase from a scripture really captured my thoughts recently, &#8220;when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God&#8230;&#8221; (Alma 37:37) I have been working to show more gratitude in my morning prayers, and not just dump my list of concerns and requests.
